VOLVO B10M BENDI BUSES

JONCKHEERE MISTRAL AC70FT layout. 2 buses new in June 1996. These were Aberhill depot buses, but we Dunfermline drivers got to drive them to Glasgow and Back (Just the way the shifts worked out). I always remember the drivers seat being very 'bouncy'.

PLAXTON INTERURBAN AC71F layout. 8 buses, the first one arriving in August 1996. Aberhill depot received 1 - the rest going to Dunfermline depot, primarily for use on the Glasgow - Cumbernauld (Abronhill) - Dunfermline X25 and X15 services, then being run by Dunfermline depot. I believe this is what caused Firstbus to create their 'FIFEFIRST' service 56 between Ballingry - Cowdenbeath - Dunfermline - Edinburgh. I remember doing 'duplicates' in a Volvo Citybus on the Dunfermline - Ballingry corridor, being told to try and run in front of the Firstbus service. They even gave me the spare conductress from the X25/X15 service so we could load the bus quicker  and to encourage older people to travel on our bus. Yes! It was all fun and games in those days.
