THIS LOVELY PHOTOGRAPH SHOWS A BIT OF HISTORY AS BOB BROWN DRIVES Y-TYPE RELIANCE, FAC37, ACROSS THE FORTH ROAD BRIDGE WITH THE FIRST OFFICIAL BUS SERVICE, FOLLOWING THE OFFICIAL OPENING ON 4th SEPTEMBER, 1964 BY THE QUEEN. THE MINIATURE BUS WAS BOUGHT DOWN FROM ARBROATH, AND WAS OWNED BY MATTHEW KERR (OF KERR'S MINIATURE RAILWAY, ARBROATH). MATTHEW KERR MAY BE THE DRIVER (IN THE FLAT CAP). THIS MINIATURE BUS IS STILL OWNED, AND RUN, BY KERR'S MINIATURE RAILWAY, ARBROATH.

(Thanks to Bobby Brown Jnr for the photograph)

A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THIS SITE

Well here it is, and what an ongoing project it is. I feel that this is a never ending project as people keep reminding me about the various wee bits and pieces that I have forgotten (Keep it coming though). I do not pretend to know everything about the history of our buses in the Kingdom as I am missing lots of fleetlists etc, but someone has got to start somewhere. It is about time that Fife had a web page devoted to our own buses, and this page will hopefully provide just that. There will be a lot of information I have maybe forgotten to add, so I am always willing to take any info, or amend anything within this site. The most important thing is to just enjoy exploring this site. I am always looking for photographic contributions of any of the buses in this site to try and complete the database, and so far, I have had a tremendous response. Many thanks to you all.

On this site, I hope to list all types of vehicles run by the bus companies, from the Walter Alexander (Fife) days, through the Scottish Bus Group (SBG) era, to the present Stagecoach time. Eventually, it is hoped that all 'independent' companies will be covered as well.

The vehicles will be listed by their type, registration number and subsequent fleet numbers. In most cases, the owner of the vehicle when new will also be given. A brief description may also be given with certain vehicles, or maybe a brief phrase or two regarding a memorable event.

Click on 'PHOTO' to take you to a photograph in the database, or click on 'LINK' to take you to a photograph on someone else's site. Some photographs will also be my own or used with the contributors permission. It is hoped that through time, most links will be to photographs in our own database. If you are directed to any external links that are not working, please contact me and let me know and it will be amended accordingly. These instances are usually outwith my control.

I do not mind at all if anyone copies any of my photographs from the site. Most others are marked as such that any attempted 'cropping' of an image will still include part or all of the copyright owners name , or the website address. A lot of these photographs are not mine, so I hold no copyright to them. If you wish to copy any photos from any links, please contact the owner of the site you are diverted to. A list of all the site owners is also given in the 'Links' section. I have a few photo's that have been sent to me, and I cannot verify the copyright owner - I apologise for this in advance. I am sure that a fellow enthusiast would not mind his/her photos being shown if he/she was given the due credit for their work. If you recognise your work, just email me and I will give you the credit you are due.

If you do want any images in our database without any markings, drop me an email and I will contact the contributor to see if it can be done. Fife Scottish recommends Dave Farrier Photographs if you are looking for good quality photographs of any Fife buses.

A lot of the information and photographs were supplied by my friend and colleague - Innes Cameron. I owe him a big thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I would also like to thank everyone who has contacted me about the site. I have enjoyed compiling the site, and I am happy that everyone has enjoyed the nostalgic trip down memory lane.
