FERRYTOLL
Ferrytoll Park & Ride, love it or loathe it, is an important transport hub for buses between Fife and Edinburgh. I personally have mixed feelings about the place. Please remember that these are MY personal opinions, and in no way are they reflections of any views against Fife Regional Council or my employer, Stagecoach Fife.
I don't like the bottleneck created around the area during the morning peak period when cars are coming down the exit from the A90, to go over the roundabout, and back up to the A90. Yes, just a rat run as far as I am concerned. An example of what I mean can be seen HERE.
Buses, having arrived at Ferrytoll early, tend to block the place up at times as drivers leave the cab and 'disappear'. Fellow bus drivers, can't you just park it up out of the way for a few minutes. I know it has been hard due to the Megabus using the facility now. I also think a lot of the problem has to do with the limit space for the buses at Ferrytoll (compared to the P&R areas I have seen in Edinburgh).
I hope that if the Council decides to build another P&R in the future, they employ a planner who will give it it's own entrance/exit that will not get blocked up by cars at peak times, and gives plenty of room for the buses to park up/wait/ manoeuvre.
