DAIMLER FLEETLINE / LEYLAND FLEETLINE
D AND AD ALEXANDER bodywork. 75 seats - H44/31F layout. FRF1 - FRF34 had Alexander's 'D' type bodywork. FRF49 - FRF67 and FRF73 had the 'AD' version of the bodywork. I always remember when I first saw these buses and I was impressed by how good looking they were (I was only an impressionable kid in those days). The first order of 20 was in 1968 (LXA___G batch) followed by 14 in 1970 and 19 in 1971. The final one (XXA373M) entered service in 1973 and I believe was exhibited at the Scottish Motor Show that year. All Fleetlines were ordered by Alexander (Fife).
Did you know....
....that the upper saloon front windscreen moulding area, was the same moulding as that used on the rear of the Y type leopards.

The ex - Tayside vehicles had a H??/??F layout and the ex - Grampian vehicles had a H??/??F layout. FRF74 - FRF76 were 33ft long making them Fife's longest double decker bus at the time. These vehicles were bought by FIFE SCOTTISH OMNIBUSES.
